SUnMaRC 2026
The 2026 edition of The Southwestern Undergraduate Mathematics Research Conference (SUnMaRC) took place on Friday, April 17 through Sunday, April 19 at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. A team of ten undergraduate students from UNM participated in various sessions and in the Problem Contest. Aldo Morelli won the individual contest while the UNM team won the overall Problem Contest. The participating students were Whitney Abbott, Norman Boyd, Chayton Castruita, Ernesto Carrasco, Preston Carter, Jack Cerullo, Silvia Coffey, Brandon Gallegos, Nicolaas Koers, and Aldo Morelli.
SUnMaRC brings together students and faculty from throughout the southwest for a weekend of mathematics. SUnMaRC is designed to provide opportunities for students to attend or present mathematics research in a supportive and fun atmosphere. In addition to student talks, there are invited speakers.
