Lead Opening and Orientation:
Three 50 km by 50 km regions of the Artic have been studied. The links below show images of the three regions from the Radarsat Geophysical Processor System ( RGPS ) and illustrate the predictions of an elastic-decohesive constitutive model run kinematically. The model predicts the formation of a jump in displacement corresponding to a lead opening.
