DIRECTIONS/LOCAL INFO

Location

All talks will be at the University of New Mexico, SMLC building, room 102. The SMLC houses the math/stat department and is building 14 on the map of central campus.

The airport is only about 10 minutes by taxi from the Plaza Inn or campus. The walk from the SMLC building on campus to the Plaza Inn is about 10 minutes on foot, through a nice residential neighborhood. If you have a hard time processing numbers in text, here is a picture.

If you stay at the Plaza Inn, when you arrive, you should consider asking for a room on the East side if you are a light sleeper and wish to avoid freeway noise. On the other hand, the West side of the Plaza Inn will have the better view of balloons from your room in the morning.

Parking

Parking will be easy on Saturday and Sunday. After 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening, and all day Saturday and Sunday, visitors may park in any permit zone. There is a "B zone" lot adjacent to the SMLC, to the East. From Martin Luther King Avenue at University go East 20 yard then North 30 yards and then East into the parking lot. Do not park in the space marked Mathematics and Statistics or any other marked space in this lot.
