Abstract
In recent years commercial production of products manifactured by genetically altered organisms is a reality. In this paper, we consider a nonlinear model describing competition between plasmid-bearing and plasmid-free organisms in continuous culture.
Assuming that some parameters in the model
are unknown but bounded, we discuss the stability characteristics and the asymptotic behaviour of the model in the case of inhibited kinetics. The theoretical results are demonstrated in the computer algebra system MAPLE.
