Facilities for General Relativity in Macsyma

This presentation surveys facilities in Macsyma that are 
particularly useful for computations in general relativity. 
These include (1) indicial tensor analysis, including new 
capabilities for variational tensor calculus; (2) component 
tensor analysis; (3) frame fields including noncommuting 
frame derivatives; (4) general non-commuting derivatives 
outside the tensor packages; (5) affine torsion and conformal 
nonmetricity; (6) an algebraic tensor package; (7) ten 
executable demonstrations of computations with special and 
general relativity, including black holes, cosmological 
solutions, weak field approximations, and spin groups.
