FLYING to MAUI There are many flights to the Hawaiian Islands. It is possible to fly directly to Maui (Kahului airport) from the U.S. west coast as well flying via Honolulu. Kahului is the major Maui airport and the one you want to fly to. If you fly through Honolulu, note that there are many, many flights to Kahului (approximately every half hour from 5 am to 7 pm and hourly until 10 pm or so). ARRIVING at the ASTON WAILEA RESORT The Aston Wailea Resort is located about 15 miles due nearly south of the Kahului airport at the southern boundaries of the town of Wailea which itself is just south of the larger town of Kihei. Driving From Kahului airport, follow 380 southwest (Keolani Place, then Dairy Road). Turn left (southeast) onto 350 (initially Pu'unene Avenue; after passing through the town of Pu'unene, it turns into the Mokulele Highway). When 350 ends just north of Kihei, follow 31 (the Pi'ilani Highway) until it ends in Wailea. You are almost there now. Now, turn due west on Wailea Iki Drive and go a short distance until you run into Wailea Alanui Drive. The Wailea Shopping Village should be right in front of you. Turn right (north) and just go perhaps 1/5 of a mile to a turnoff to the left (toward the ocean) which will lead into the Aston Wailea Resort. You made it! (Instead of 31, you could also have taken the South Kihei Road which goes right through the middle of Kihei. It turns into Okolani Drive for a short stretch before running into Wailea Alanui Drive. In this case, turn right and go south about 3/4 of a mile.) If you are lost, remember that Maui is a small island. Send us a postcard from wherever you land up. ;-] Shuttle There is a shuttle bus you can take from the airport. Call Airport Shuttle at 661-6667. One way to the Aston Wailea Resort is $16 for 1 person, $18 for 2, $20 for 3, etc., so the larger the group, the better the price per person. The ride from Kahului airport to the hotel will take about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic. THE CONFERENCES All meetings will take place in the Conference Pavilion. This is a two story building directly south of the bus parking area. There is a long hallway leading due south from the hotel reception area. East of where it ends is the Conference Pavilion (in a separate building). Directions At the hotel, west is toward the ocean and east is toward Haleakala.
