Computer Algebra Applied to Technology ====================================== Special session proposal IMACS Conference on Applied Computer Algebra University of New Mexico, 16-20th of May, 1995 Chair: Prof. Stanly Steinberg Waldir L. Roque Institute of Mathematics - UFRGS roque@mat.ufrgs.br During the last few years we have notice an increasing number in the applications of computer algebra techniques and systems to investigate technological problems. Applications can be seen in fields like: -- Aerodynamics -- Bifurcation phenomena in condensed-phase surface combustion -- Elasticity -- Eletronics -- Fluid mechanics -- Information management systems -- Kinetics and mechanical systems -- Microwave technology -- Nonlinear control systems -- Robotics -- Etc... The motivation of this special session is: i) to provide a forum to discuss new results and contributions in this domain, ii) to promote the exchange of ideas, iii) to stimulate collaborations and development of joint projects, and iv) to a great extent, to attract industrial partners. Those that are interested in attending and submitting a paper to this session please forward an email to roque@mat.ufrgs.br. A preliminary (incomplete) list of potential speakers is given below.
