Choose four problems from different sections in Munkres' Chapter 3:
Section 10 (p. 90): 3, 4, 5, 6-7.
Section 11 (p. 97-98): 1, 7.
Section 12 (p. 103): 2, 3, 4.
Section 13 (p. 111): 1, 4.
Section 14 (p. 120-121): 4, 5, 7.
Section 15 (p. 132-133): 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
Last Homework 4 (due May 11, 2010):
Choose four problems, at least one from Section 22 and one from
Section 25 in Munkres:
Section 21 (p. 187): 2&3, 5.
Section 22 (p. 193-195): 3, 4.
Section 23 (p. 202): 3, 5, 6
Section 24 (p. 209): 1, 4, 5&6.
Section 25 (p. 217-218): 2, 3, 5, 6, 7.
You could compute both the volume of the unit ball in R^n as a
function of n, and the (n-1)-volume of the surface of the unit ball in R^n
as functions of n (this one I think is one of the Munkres exercises).
This would count as 2 of the exercises.
