Homework 7 (due 10/21/08): Read Sections 2.3.
Sec 2.3 (p.163-164): 10, 13, 14, 18, 24, 25, 26, 34, 37, 47.

Homework 6 (due 10/14/08): Read Sections 2.1 and 2.2.
Sec 2.1 (p.143-144): Do at least one of the following triplets (2, 8, 14) or (4, 10,16) or (6-12-18). Also do: 24, 42*, 44 and 46.
Sec 2.2 (p. 153): Do at least one of the following pairs (2,10) or (4,12). Also do: 16, 18, 24, 26, 28.

Homework 5 (due 10/7/08): Read at least one of the Sections 1.9 (model of lung), 1.10 (non-linear model of selection), 1.11 (simple model of the heart). On Thursday 10/2 we will discuss briefly each of these models.
If you chose Section 1.9: 14-18-22.
If you chose Section 1.10 (p.119): 20, 22.
If you chose Section 1.11 (p.127): 2-6.

Review for Midterm 1 (Midterm 1 on Tuesday 9/30/08):
Suplemmentary problems Chapter 1 (p. 128-129): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6*, 9*, 10, 13, 15.
Solutions review Midterm1 (excluding problems 6 and 9 that were solved in class on Th 9/25/08).

Homework 4 (due 9/23/08): If you have not already read it, read Sections 1.6, 1.7 and 1.8.

Section 1.7: 28, 32, 34, 38, 44, 46, 52, 54. (Whatever you do, bonus.)
Section 1.8: 44, 48, 54 (you might have to read and understand 51-53). (Whatever you do, bonus.)

15 minutes Quiz that thursday, will include two of the following problems:

Homework 3 (due 9/16/08): Read Sections 1.5 and 1.6.

Review: Start reading sections 1.7 and 1.8, which are reviews of exponential/logarithm and trigonometric functions respectively.

Homework 2 (due 9/9/08): Read Sections 1.3 (units and dimensions) and Sec 1.4 (linear functions and their graphs).
Section 1.3: 4, 14, 20, 23-26, 34*, 36, 44*.
Section 1.4: 6, 12, 18, 28, 30, 38, 55-58 (can you add a few data points from more recent Olympic games? where your predictions correct?)
Starred (*) problems were solved in class on 9/4/08, do not hand them in.
