Job Description: 

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking an organized, detail oriented individual who can work effectively and independently in a multi-tasking environment. This individual will be responsible for coordinating and assisting with public, professional, and/or community educational programs, including day-to-day operations of the Math Learning Lab. Will prepare curricula and teaching schedules, tutor schedules, instructor and tutor training seminars, and administrative support services. Will assist with fiscal oversight, program implementation, administration, and reporting of Math Learning Lab activities.

This position will also be responsible for writing, editing, and coordinating the development of schedules, course catalogs, promotional materials, educational materials, training manuals, newsletters, and brochures for the Math Learning Lab; Scheduling, organizing, and facilitating the delivery of ALEKS curriculum and other educational programming related to the Math Learning Lab; Developing and maintaining records and databases on student and program activities, materials, equipment, and supplies; Creating, typing, and editing program correspondence, purchasing documents, reports, program handbooks, and other program related documents; Coordinating training activities, schedules, and time sheets for Math Learning Lab tutors and instructors; Performing or overseeing clerical and administrative support tasks, including answering emails, assisting and resolving problems and inquiries from staff, faculty, students, and visitors, reviewing and organizing incoming and outgoing correspondence, course fee requests, project supplies and materials for the curriculum; Collecting and analyzing data; preparing schedules and special reports; maintaining program/project records and statistical information; Coordinating space and facilities usage as appropriate to overall curriculum requirements, including oversight of Math Learning Lab software and computers;
This position may monitor, reconcile, and assist with fiscal administration for the program, including but not limited to budgets, funding, course fee requests and reports, timesheets, and purchasing as appropriate; may participate in other fundraising activities; May provide administrative assistance with faculty and/or staff searches, as appropriate, to include logging employment applications; preparing applicant acknowledgements and interview documents, coordinating interview logistics, and coordinating search documentation; and may travel to other relevant community venues, as required, in support of curricular activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis
Preferred Qualifications:
 Knowledge of curriculum development and preparation procedures in the ALEKS
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with
a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
 Ability to coordinate and organize educational programs, meetings and/or special
 Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
 Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
 Records maintenance skills.
 Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
 Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
 Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
 Clerical, word processing, and/or office skills.
 Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
 Experience with Banner finance and Hyperion systems.
 Experience in budget preparation and analysis as it relates to financial and grant
 Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
